Bonsai Content Management System
The Bonsai content management system is a website building and maintenance system which is database driven designed for companies that want to actively engage in an Internet Strategy where the site is constantly changed and promoted. It is best suited where sites expect to publish 50 or more pages of content or applications.
All editing of content and applications are designed to be done through a web interface. HTML tools like Front Page or dreamweaver are seldom if ever used. The primary focus is for non-technical personel the ability to change content whenever needed and the ability to easily manage thousands of pages with complete control.
Bonsai runs on the Microsoft platform between a fully dedicated web server and a separate SQL database server.
An XML data layer is employed which provides the ability to universally communicate with E-commerce systems or other external data base systems.
An XHTML/CSS structure provides for the ability of a very flexible design, as well as cross-browser support.
Once the core design's are applied to the Bonsai structure, an unlimited amount of pages and navigation can be added to a site.
After pages are added, content is added to any page by installing applications, the most common and flexible being the WYSIWYG editor which includes the non-technical ability to add images to a page.
