Events, Creating Lasting Experiences, Easy Sharing
My iPhone 16 Pro, an Insta360 X3 video camera, and an extra-long selfie stick captured one of the most impactful experiences I’ve ever had, along with several of the top competitive intelligence experts in the world.
Using Suno.ai, I created a Chicago-style music track to accompany a “Chicago Architectural Boat Tour” and tied together all the iPhone videos, photos, and 360 clips.

The first prompt generated cheesy, boring piano music :( — the second prompt nailed it.

I dragged in my favorite horizontal iPhone video clips and added a few Insta360 clips — the iPhone captured the colors much better — then finished with photos of the guests taken in portrait mode to blur the background and draw full focus to their smiles as they shared the same visceral reaction I was experiencing.
Opening the video with a close-up of the bridge’s undercarriage that revealed the Sears Tower created a dynamic visual hook.
One of my favorite pics — one of the partners in the glow of golden hour as we pass under a bridge.
When the music shifted to a single piano interlude, I transitioned to the static photos I had captured. It felt like the perfect moment to move from the grandeur of the buildings to close-ups of people. Unlike the building clips, these shots no longer carried the background sound of the storyteller, which made them feel more intimate.
Finally, the last 360 shot using the tiny planet setting tied the video together, like a bow wrapping the gift of this shared experience.
The video was up and running the next morning for when the event guests were eating breakfast.
The event partners deserve full credit: their format of transforming Competitive Intelligence through lived stories was perfectly complemented by this capture.

People want to be with people. In our social-media and AI-saturated world, sharing conversation face-to-face is one of the purest and rarest experiences we can offer each other.
Capturing, producing, and sharing these moments is now more accessible than ever.
The architectural boat tour welcomed guests as they flew into Chicago on Monday for their two-day GRIT event on Tuesday and Wednesday. It bonded and connected attendees before the event even began — and I was there to capture that experience with little more than my phone.
