Happy Birthday World Wide Web!

28 years ago today the first web page appeared.

24 years ago I left the family business to join an Internet star-up for the Plastics Industry called PlasticsNet. While I wasn’t there for the birth of the web, when I was coding the first web pages for plastics people, they looked exactly like above.

To say I’ve seen things, doesn’t begin to describe it.

Tim-Berners Lee invented the first web server and web page on a NEXT computer while working at CERN – the European Organization for Nuclear Research. He wanted to create an easier way for scientist to share information and basically assembled together several technologies already invented – connected computers, hypertext, TCP/IP and the domain name system.
