A Thanksgiving marketing story

Behind the scenes

I'm not a fan of holiday social posts that don't tie into who a company is.

That's not what my awesome client Lvs Meyers did.

One of the regional managers told me about a LinkedIn post he made about saving Thanksgiving with one of their products.

He sent me the post and I screen recorded it, and then worked on remastering it.

I brought it into Descript where, with their audio repair feature, most of the background wind and noise was removed and his voice came through much richer and clearer. I then used Descript's text to video editing tool to cut this down to 50 seconds, exported and brought it into Kapwing, a cloud-based collaborative video editing tool.

In Kapwing, I cropped the video capture into a smaller webcam like view, and then dressed the background with AI generated fall images that tied into his story.

I added music, minimal branding, some environmental sound, and in 42 minutes, I remastered what I believe to be a perfect, short, Thanksgiving marketing video that does more than just say Happy Thanksgiving.

The actual video

This is Steve Surges here. So I'm a regional manager. I go around the country. Today, I happen to be in Vermont, which is beautiful by the way, and I go around and I sell emergency lighting inverters.

And for the most part, they're a red box that gets people out of a building in 90 minutes. But the real thing is what it actually can do for people's lives. And today I was on a call talking to a distributor and he told me that because we got this inverter shipped in time, he needed it in a week, and we have the quick ship program, so we shipped it to him.

They were able to save, I think he said 200 to 400 turkeys that were going to a local food bank to get ready for Thanksgiving, and the building needed occupancy. And the emergency inverter they got just in time to meet that. So they didn't have to have the turkeys not have a home.

So it's just really good to hear when your product's being used for good things and it just makes it more fun for salespeople. So I just wanted to share this with everyone. It's a neat little story and I hope you guys had a great day like I did.
